Hey y’all, I’m Ovie.

Welcome…c’mon in, get cozy and let me tell you a little bit about how we got here. I was the kid who never met a stranger, whose report card always read “very smart but too talkative.” I loved to read and write poetry and wanted to be a lawyer until I didn’t lol. I never lost my love for communication and helping others so I enjoy a professional career rooted in public service. Fast foward a lifetime to COVID-19. Long…like really long…walks while listening to various podcasts and praying not only saved my sanity but birthed the podcast - Yeah…But Are You Listening???

I was terrified of hearing my own voice on Beyonce’s internet but I took a leap of faith, decided to #DoItScared and uncovered my new passion. The podcast allows me to share my deepest thoughts, feelings, and vulnerabilities while engaging with others who are navigating similar challenges. It also provides a platform to connect people with valuable resources, give voice to unspoken struggles, and work through trauma together with my listeners.

I was born and raised (and still residing) in North Carolina but I love to travel. As a matter of fact, I look forward to splitting my time between home and somewhere off a coast with a beautiful sunset. I’m a daughter, a mommy, a Gigi and an only-child with a whole gang of “sisters.”
